ESTA Requirements
Here is everything you will need before starting your questionnaire. Let's look at this together, one item at a time.
What You Will Need
Please have these items ready before you begin. If you cannot find something, don't worry — our team can help you work through it. There is no need to feel anxious.
A Valid Passport
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your planned travel dates. It must be from a country that participates in the Visa Waiver Program. If you are unsure, our team can check for you.
Your Travel Dates
An approximate date of when you plan to arrive in the United States. If you're not sure of the exact date yet, an estimate is perfectly fine — you can always update it later.
A Contact Address in the US
The name and address of the hotel, resort, family member, or friend where you will be staying. If you have a booking confirmation with the address, that is ideal.
Your Employment Information
Your current or most recent employer's name and address. If you are retired, you can simply write 'Retired.' Our questionnaire will guide you through this.
An Email Address You Check Regularly
We will use this to send you updates, your confirmation, and your completed authorisation. Please use an email you check often so you don't miss anything.
A Payment Method
A debit card or credit card to pay for the service and government fees. Payment is only taken at the very end, after you have reviewed everything.
Who Can Use ESTA?
ESTA is available to citizens of countries that participate in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). This programme allows travellers from eligible countries to visit the United States for tourism or business for up to 90 days without needing a traditional visa.
Some of the countries included in the programme are:
If you are unsure whether your country is eligible, please contact our team and we will be happy to check for you.
What Is ESTA Used For?
An ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is required for travellers from VWP countries who are:
- Visiting the United States for tourism, sightseeing, or holidays
- Travelling to the US for short business meetings or conferences
- Transiting (passing through) the United States on the way to another country
An ESTA is not a visa. It is a simpler, faster form of travel authorisation specifically designed for short visits from eligible countries.
How Long Is an ESTA Valid?
Once approved, your ESTA is typically valid for two years or until your passport expires — whichever comes first. During this time, you can make multiple trips to the United States without needing to apply again.
Each visit can last up to 90 days. If you need to stay longer than 90 days, a traditional visa may be required.
Helpful Tips Before You Begin
- Have your passport in front of you — you will need to copy details exactly as they appear.
- Use the same spelling of your name that appears in your passport.
- Double-check your email address — this is how we will send your authorisation.
- If you wear glasses for reading, please have them ready.
- You don't need to complete everything in one sitting — you can save and return later.
